Late Shri Dhirubhai D. Thumer who originally was a part of the public listed company Patel Engineering, branched out in 1962 to form Dhirubhai D. Thumer and Co. along with his brother Late Shri Govindbhai Patel. They undertook public and private contracts in various parts of India, beginning with a project for REC, Warangal.
Subsequently, the second generation joined the business with Mr. Anil D. Patel and Mr. Amit G. Patel diversifying into the areas of real estate, interior design, contracting and fit outs. Patel Projects Ltd. began in 1996 as a focused real estate company, and since has grown exponentially, having executed projects across three continents.
Thereafter, the third generation has been inducted in the business with Mr. Dhruv Patel and Mrs. Jinny Patel spearheading the interiors and fit out vertical, Mr. Daman Patel taking over the construction and contracting business, and Mrs. Pooja Reddy Patel heading the hospitality vertical of the group.
